The seat part is mounted in an essentially dimensionally stable stand and comprises a peripheral frame and a resilient structure (21) designed to be embedded in a resilient and optionally elastic material for providing shock absorbing properties. The frame has two opposing sections (13, 14) which are urged towards each other under tension by the resilient structure when a person sits on the chair. Slightly bending the frame sections enables them to be secured to the stand using fasteners (22, 23).
