The headlamp (10) has several lamp units (20A,20B,20C,20D) with semiconductor light-emitting diodes (LED) as light source. The first of the lamp units (20A) has a single LED as source, and the other units have multiple LEDs as source. The lamp units produce a zone of intense light and a zone of diffused light in the light distribution pattern.
