PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key switch allowing a key top to be vertically moved in a horizontal form even if two levers combined in a pantograph-like form are not used. SOLUTION: This key switch 1 is equipped with: an elastic member 6 for elastically biasing the key top 5 upward; a board 2 capable of holding the elastic member 6; and a switch circuit having fixed contacts 2c, 2c switchable along with the vertical movement of the key top 5, and a moving contact 6b. First and second link members 3 and 4 are disposed adjacently to each other at a predetermined angle so that two pairs of plate materials 3c and 3d, and 4c and 4d are formed into a foldable hinge-like form by using intersecting points 3b and 4b as fulcrums, respectively. The folding angleαof the two pairs of the plate materials 3c and 3d, and 4c and 4d are varied by gearing with the telescopic motion of the elastic member 6 caused by the vertical movement of the key top 5.
