PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical disk device in which sector synchronism can be secured surely in an optical disk in which a recording track of a groove part and a recording track of groove interval part are connected alternately and one recording spiral is formed. SOLUTION: Timing of a sector discriminating signal is detected from a waveform of a tracking error signal of an optical disk in which a part of a discriminating signal is arranged shifting it from the center of a groove part in one side direction of a radius by a fixed quantity and the other part of the discriminating signal is arranged shifting it from the center of the groove in the reverse direction of a radius by the same quantity, and sector synchronism can be secured based on the timing.
