PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coupling structure of a carriage and a driving belt in a serial scan recorder in which phase shift between a motor and a carriage is suppressed while damping vibration effectively. SOLUTION: On the back side of a carriage 50, a belt holder 59 is secured while holding a timing belt 83 such that phase shift is not present. A damper 71, i.e. an elastic member, for damping vibration being transmitted from a driving system to the carriage 50 is secured directly to the back of the carriage 50 and the belt holder 59 is fixed by means of a fixing member 72 through the damper 71.
