PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which can be mass produced inexpensively through a simple arrangement and has a roll exhibiting excellent sheet feed performance for high torque. SOLUTION: The printer comprises a rubber roll carrying a recording medium by abutting against the recording medium and rotating wherein the platen roller is produced by press fitting a tubular rubber to a metal shaft having a contour deformed to fit the deformed inside diameter of the tubular rubber.
