SEMI-AUTOMATIC GAS PILOT ORIFICE CLEAN-OUT DEVICE

A semi-automatic gas pilot clean-out device (12) and a gas pilot (10) with the device useful in agricultural brooders and other appliances that utilize a gas pilot as an ignition source. The device (12) has a plunger rod (22) with a clean-out pin (24) attached to one end and a push button assembly (30) attached to the other end. The assembly (30) when mounted within a gas pilot housing (14) can be actuated by manually pressing the button (32) of the assembly to move the plunger rod (22) toward a gas outlet (18) of the gas pilot so that the tip of the clean-out pin (24) passes through the gas outlet(18), removing debris therefrom. When pressure is no longer applied to the button (32), the assembly (30) returns to an open position.
