In the continuous moulding of a foamed material e.g. polyurethane, in a mould having a bottom 1, a fixed side wall 2 and an adjustable wall 3, the material is carried by a moving paper trough 5, and at the sides additional smooth or crepe paper strips 9 are moved on guides 7 shaped to move the strips upwardly at the point where the material begins to foam.
