<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printer printing on a transparent recording medium in which print concentration can be calibrated. <P>SOLUTION: In an unprinted area of a recording material, an optical filter is moved between a light emitting section and a light receiving section, transmission concentration is detected when the quantity of light at the light emitting section of a detecting means is limited to a plurality of levels, patterns of different concentrations are printed, respectively, at a plurality of specified positions of the recording material by a printing means, transmission concentration of each pattern is detected by spacing apart the optical filter from the detecting means, and then image data is corrected depending on the comparison results of transmission concentration when passing through the optical filter and transmission concentration of the print pattern. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
