<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems in the conventional art referring to a method for removing NOx from exhaust gas of an automobile diesel engine, that in the method of oxidation-occlusion of NOx, degradation in performance is caused by reaction with sulfur dioxide in the method of removing NOx by plasma, by-products are formed because of need to use additives in exhaust gas, further in the method of using a catalyst, the catalyst does not function under low conditions of exhaust-gas temperature, and the reduction is difficult in the case of high oxygen concentration. <P>SOLUTION: Nitrogen monoxide in exhaust gas is oxidized, and adsorbed on an adsorption section in the equipment. Nitrate ions, etc. formed by application of an electric field to the adsorption section are allowed to migrate to the positive-pole side, and concentrated. The concentrated nitrate ions, etc. are subjected to a catalytic reaction in a reducing gas, an electric discharge in a reducing gas or low oxygen-concentration, or an electrolysis after concentration in aqueous solution.
