<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for easily removing ink adhering to the carriage of an inkjet imaging machine, an inkjet imaging machine equipped with that structure and a maintenance device. <P>SOLUTION: An ink absorbing member 86 is fixed in a maintenance cap 81 constituting the maintenance device 8 of a color inkjet printer. During the maintenance operation of recording heads 52A and 52B, the lower surface of a carriage 51 touches the upper surface of the ink absorbing member 86. Ink scattered from a wiping blade 85 during wiping operation adheres to the lower surface of the carriage 51. That ink is removed by means of the ink absorbing member 86. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
