<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a two color print image having an appropriate image quality intended by a user by preventing interference of toners of two colors, breaking of a thin line and blurring of the outline. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises independent black and red writing control means 6 and 7 for controlling the laser beam output, a photosensitive drum 10 for forming an electrostatic latent image, and developing units 8 and 9 for developing an image, respectively, with red and black toner. Each of black and red writing control means 6 and 7 incorporates a means for detecting and encoding the edge part and the part other than edge of image data, a memory means storing code data for converting image data encoded by the edge detecting means into density data, and a PWM modulation means for converting density data converted by the memory means storing code data into a laser lighting modulation signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
