PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DVD (Digital Video Disk) reproduction display device in which automatic screen switching is possible between a TV broadcast transmission reception video or an external input video and a DVD reprodution video without causing high picture disturbance and without inviting a change in coloration, a degradation in an S/N (Signal to Noise) ratio, a degradation in resolution. SOLUTION: An input video signal inputted through a TV channel tuning demodulation circuit 13 from a line IN11 or an antenna IN12 as an external input signal is inputted to a broadcast system discriminating circuit 16 to discriminate the broadcast system of the signal. The result is temporarily stored. A switch circuit 23 switches the broadcast system outputting a DVD signal decoded by means of a DVD reproduction device to the broadcast system of the stored input video signal. The decoded DVD signal is encoded by means of a selected encoder 21/22 to display the coded DVD signal through a multi-system TV monitor driving circuit 15 with the broadcast system on a monitor.
