PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device for electrophotography that sufficiently clears away spherical polymeric toner. SOLUTION: A blade 2 in which spiral blades 5 are radially provided at equal pitches on the periphery of a rotor 4 is used as the cleaning device. The spiral blades 5 are disposed in contact with the surface of a photoreceptor 1. The rotor 4 is rotated so that the direction of the rotation of the photoreceptor 1 is in a counter direction to the direction of the rotation of the spiral blade 5. Thus, the transfer residual toner 3 sticking to the periphery of the rotor 4 can be cleared away. Accordingly, in the cleaning device, vibration of the blades is eliminated and cleaning failure is prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
