PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator and a defrosting device simply structured, capable of reducing a power consumption, and allowing the performance of an evaporator to be increased. SOLUTION: This refrigerator and defrosting device comprises a body, a heat pipe formed of a closed loop capable of circulating working refrigerant in a refrigerator having a compressor and the evaporator in the body, a first heat exchange part installed in one area of the heat pipe and absorbing heat generated from the compressor, a second heat exchange part installed in one area of the heat pipe on the upper side of the first exchanger at a position in proximity to the evaporator and discharging heat to the evaporator, and a control valve installed in one area between the first and second heat exchange parts and opening and closing the heat pipe. When the control valve is opened, the working refrigerant cooled and liquefied by the second heat exchanger is heated by the first heat exchange part pushes out, by gravity, the working refrigerant heated and evaporated by the first heat exchange part for circulation.
