PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Stirling freezer capable of remarkably reducing vibration without variation, and reducing a size, a weight, and a cost. SOLUTION: In this Stirling freezer, a compressor A having a cylinder 3 and an expansion engine B enclosing a displacer 13 are rigidly assembled together and formed integrally with each other. The cylinder 3 and the displacer 13 are driven so as to perform a reciprocating motion to repeat such an operation to move close to and away from each other on a same axis. The compression space 6 of the compressor A and the expansion space 15 of the expansion engine B are disposed so that working gases therein operate with a phase difference on a Stirling cycle. The cylinder 3 and the displacer 13 are preferably driven with a phase difference of 120-240 degrees. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
