PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a commodity value by fully exposing a glass surface and to prevent a glass plate 3 from being scratched by equipped members such as a trivet placed on the glass plate 3 in a glass top for cooking stoves where a cooking stove opening 7 facing a heating source is provided on the glass plate 3 that becomes the main body of the top. SOLUTION: A coating layer 12 for preventing the glass surface from being scratched is formed on the upper surface of the glass plate 3 by limiting to the peripheral region of the cooking stove opening 7 including the portion of the glass plate 3 where the equipped members are seated.
