PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bay window for a building which secures daylighting and the sufficient extension of an indoor space, is simple in structure, fitted for the arrangement of plants, and excellent in appearance. SOLUTION: An bay window space (3) is formed of a window opening corresponding space (4) which is sandwiched by the opening surface (7) of a window opening (13) and a vertical surface (8) obtained by projecting the opening surface (7) on a bay window front surface, laterally extended spaces (5), (5) which are formed by extending rightward and leftward the window opening corresponding space (4), and an upward extended space (6) which is formed by extending the space (4) upward. In peripheral surfaces of the bay window, most of the front vertical surface (8) of the window opening corresponding space (4) and most of portions of the laterally extended spaces (5), (5) and the upward extended space (6), i.e. at least portions facing a front side of the bay window are formed of translucent surfaces.
