PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an element tube which can sufficiently show the essential performance of a heat exchanger by surely brazing an inner fin to a tube main body with a relatively simple structure. SOLUTION: This element tube 50 for a heat exchanger is formed by inserting the inner fin 13 into an inner tube 12 as a tube main body along the longitudinal direction thereof. The inner fin 13 is formed by overlapping two fin plates 14 and 14, which are formed by bending a metal plate, with each other to have a non-closing loop cross section, and a top part of a cylindrical flange part 15 formed in an end of the fin plate 14 is brazed to the inner peripheral surface of the inner tube 2, while brought in contact with the inside thereof.
