<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a burner for fuel reforming with a wide combusting region suitable for the reformer of a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The burner for fuel reforming is used to supply heat for reforming to a reformer which uses a liquid fuel and water as the reforming source material. The burner comprises a nozzle 4 to drop the liquid fuel, a vaporizer 3 and a burner mat 7. In the vaporizer 3, the liquid fuel for combustion dropped into a cylindrical casing 1 extended in the vertical direction and having the lower end closed is heated by an electric heater 2 through the casing 1 to vaporize to produce a mixture gas with air. The burner mat 7 is disposed to choke the upper opening of the vaporizer 3, and the mixture gas produced in the vaporizer 3 is combusted to generate flames on the upper face of the mat. The injection speed of the liquid fuel from the top end of the nozzle 4 is controlled to ≥5 cm/sec. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
