LAMINATED POLYESTER FILM FOR OPTICAL TAPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated polyester film for an optical tape which is excellent in recording and reproducing characteristics and in productivity when used as a base film of an optical recording tape, and to provide an optical tape using the above film.

SOLUTION: This laminated polyester film for an optical tape is characterized in that a polyester film is made up by laminating one side of a polyester layer A which uses polyester A as a main constituent with a polyester layer B which uses polyester B as a main constituent; the film surface roughness WRa (A) of the outer surface of the polyester layer A is 0.1-4 nm, the surface roughness WRa (B) of the outer surface of the polyester layer B is 1-20 nm, and WRz (B) is 50-500 nm; and the polyester layer B contains 0.001 wt.% or more of aliphatic monocarboxylic acid of eight or more carbon numbers and polyhydric alcohols consisting of ester wax.
