<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize stable ACC follow-up running, by detecting the distance from the front vehicle with radio wave radar using two-frequency CW method, even if a relative speed is zero. <P>SOLUTION: By combining the two-frequency CW method and other modulation method (frequency pulse CW method or FM-CW method), the two-frequency CW method is used, when a relative speed exists and the frequency pulse method is mixed for near-zero relative speed. By generating an IF signal obtained from reflection wave from the front vehicle, even at zero relative speed, the existence of ACC object vehicle is detected and stable ACC tracking running is attained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
