<p>The solution consists of a homogeneous liquid mixture of water and an organic dipolar compound preferably DMF and dissolved Cr(III), Ni, ammonium and halogen ions in proportion water to organic not greater than 65:35 pref. 40:60 to 60:40. The ammonium ion concentration should be at least 0.2M pref. 0.6 to 1.0 M. The pH should be 1 to 3.5 pref. less than 2.2. Boric should be present at at least 0.1M and Na at 0.5M, Cr 0.8 to 1.3M, Ni 0.4 to 1.2M. The current density should be between 0.5 and 20 amps./dm2 at 20 to 80 degrees C.</p> |
