PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance vibration-proof of a wound electric double layer capacitor so that it can be used also in an application subjected to vibration. SOLUTION: A substantially ring-shaped insulating part 12 composed of a material insoluble to electrolyte is disposed at the outer circumferential part of a capacitor element 8 to touch an inside surface of a metal case 10 so that a relative position between the capacitor element 8 and the metal case 10 is kept unchanged, i.e., the capacitor element 8 is stationary in the metal case 10.
