METHOD OF RESTORING HEAVY METAL-POLLUTED SOIL WITH ULTRASONIC IRRADIATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of restoring a soil polluted with heavy metals which drastically reduces the environmental risk and makes the recycling of the soil possible with substantially no damage exerted thereon by extracting and removing the heavy metals in the soil with a high efficiency. SOLUTION: The soil polluted with the heavy metals is subjected to washing treatment by using an aqueous solution containing a chelating agent which can form a complex with the heavy metals. The washing treatment is performed under irradiation with ultrasonic waves, thereby the soil contaminated with the heavy metals is restored. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
