PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning tool for optical connector which which soiling of a part hardly to be wiped off on the joint end surface of a connector and soiling on the circumferential surface of a fitting pin simply can be cleaned in a short period of time. SOLUTION: The cleaning tool 4 for optical connector is formed out of a holding part 3c and a cleaning part 1b not covered with the holding part 3c. The cleaning part 1b is formed by folding a number of fiber bundles made of synthetic fiber of one denier or less and is provided with a loop part 1c on the tip part. The loop part 1c is engaged into the fitting pin 64 of the connector 6, the optical cleaning tool 4 is rotated by making the fitting pin 64 a rotation center and, thereby, the fitting pin 64 is cleaned.
