PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for regulating the culture of lactic acid bacteria for producing lactic acid having a price competitive to the price of a conventional product as an industrial chemical by being cultured in a culture liquid; and to provide an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: At least one stirrer 5, a culture liquid temperature-holding means 9b, a culture liquid-and lactic acid bacteria-charging means 12, a culture liquid-discharging means 3, a neutralizing agent-injecting means 8, a temperature-detecting means 9 and a pH-detecting means 6 are attached to a culture vessel 2. The culture liquid temperature-holding means 9b is controlled by a signal of the detected temperature, and the neutralizing agent-injecting means 8 is controlled by a signal of the detected pH. At least the stirrer 5, the culture liquid 4, the culture liquid-and lactic acid bacteria-charging means 12 and the culture liquid-discharging means 3 are remote controlled by a controller 7.
