PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parching apparatus for enabling obtaining pan-roasted tea-like tea with refreshing feeling of drinking like steamed tea while being fully characterized and having flavor of pan-roasted tea and rising the amount of raw tea leaves subjected to parching treatment. SOLUTION: The parching apparatus has a parching drum 3 comprising an almost cylindrical member freely axially rotatable, having almost sealed side surfaces and capable of conveying tea leaves from one end to the other end while holding the tea leaves, a burner 4 heating the outer periphery of the parching drum 3, an input port 6 for throwing raw tea leaves into the parching drum 3, formed on one end outside the parching drum 3 and an output port 7 for taking the tea leaves out from the parching drum 3, formed on the other end outside the parching drum 3. An axial member 5 for sending heated steam from one end of the parching drum 3 to the inside of the parching drum 3 is set in the apparatus. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
