The rivet for steel sheet of tensile strength above 600 MPa has a hollow shaft (4) with a cylindrical outer surface (6) and a cylindrical or conical inner surface (8), between which is an annular cutting edge (10). The shaft has a cross-section which produces a normalized pressure below 0.07, especially 0,063 N/mm2>.
