<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a CO sensor achieving both of improvement in detection accuracy and reduction in power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: CO is detected intermittently, and an installation condition of the CO sensor is detected by a installation place detection means. According to the installation condition of the CO sensor, an output period of a CO detection pulse is changed. If increase of detection precision is necessary, a detection interval is shortened.
