<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a collector in a second collection area to surely identify whether a vehicle advancing to the second collection area in the front of a first collection area in a tandem lane is an "ETC vehicle" or a "vehicle other than ETC vehicles", or an "object of toll collection" or not. <P>SOLUTION: This toll collection system comprises the first collection area 1-1 and the second collection area 1-2 arranged in tandem in the tool collection lane of a tollgate. The first collection area 1-1 is provided with an antenna 201 for radio-communicating with the on-vehicle device of a vehicle. The second collection area 1-2 is provided with an antenna 2-2 for radio-communicating with the on-vehicle device of the vehicle, and a lane control device 2-15 for determining ETC vehicle or non-ETC vehicle according to the result of radio communication by the antenna 2-1, adding vehicle information to a vehicle management queue n+1, and determining "the object of toll collection" or not based on the result of radio communication by the antenna 2-2 and the vehicle information added to the vehicle management queue n+1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
