摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a macromolecular optical waveguide whose cost is very low, which is easily connected to other optical parts, and whose loss is restrained to be little by an easy method. SOLUTION: The manufacture method for the macromolecular optical waveguide includes (1) a stage in which a template is produced from an original disk where a projecting part for an optical waveguide is formed, (2) a stage in which film base material for a clad having excellent contact property with the template is brought into contact with the template, (3) a stage in which one end of the template fitted to the film base material for the clad is brought into contact with ultraviolet curing resin or thermosetting resin which becomes a core, and the resin is made to enter the recessed part of the template by capillarity, (4) a stage in which the resin is cured and the template is peeled from the film base material for the clad, and (5) a stage in which a clad layer is formed on the film base material for clad on which the core is formed. The core is set so that its cross section, its cross sectional shape or both of them are changed in the longitudinal direction, and the area of its two end faces is made different.
