PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an air classifier enable to manufacture a toner having a sharp particle size distribution without causing a decrease in classification efficiency even in the case of small-size toner. SOLUTION: In the air classifier, the lower surface of a guide plate and the upper surface of classifying plate are vertically disposed opposedly to each other via an aperture, at least one part of the lower surface of the guide plate has an inclination angle so as to be made higher toward the center, the upper surface of the classifying plate has an inclination angle which is made higher toward the center, the central part of the upper surface is opened and is communicated with a fine powder discharging port and the outside of the outer peripheral part of the classifying plate is communicated with a coarse powder discharging port. Therein, the inclination angle A of the upper surface of the classifying plate is made larger than the inclination angle B of the lower surface of the guide plate. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
