PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for deciding waveforms, capable of deciding the level of pass or fail in association with a pass-fail decision of an input signal. SOLUTION: The method for deciding the waveform includes the steps of deciding the pass or fail of the input signal Sa by comparing a signal waveform of the signal Sa with a pass-fail deciding reference range (level 3) (step 105), and deciding the failing level of the pass-fail decision, by comparing the waveform of the signal Sa with two set level deciding reference ranges (level 1 and level 2) (step 101 and step 103).
