PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a liquid crystal display for obtaining satisfactory display characteristics. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the liquid crystal display wherein an electrode substrate on which an electrode for inputting a signal is formed and a counter substrate are stuck to each other by using a sealant and a liquid crystal injected by a dropping injection method is held between a pair of the substrates, a bank-shaped protrusion having a height dimension higher than the dimension of a prescribed cell gap by 0.1 to 0.5μm and 5 to 100μm width dimension is formed on the electrode substrate or the counter substrate in the vicinity of a display region side from the sealant.
