PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shot blasting apparatus, which can prevent the flow out of particles, such as sand, that have remaining on a workpiece after shot blasting, to the outside, and also can prevent the flow out of shot particles from a blasting chamber to the outside. SOLUTION: A workpiece W carried into a workpiece standby chamber 6 is transported to the blasting chamber 7 according to the opening and closing operation of a transportation inlet port 7A, and is treated by shot blasting in the blasting chamber 7 with the transportation inlet port 7A and a transportation outlet port 7B closed. Next, the workpiece W is transported into a sand exhaust chamber 8 according to the opening and closing operation of the transportation outlet port 7B, and is carried out from the sand exhaust chamber 8 after the particles remaining on the workpiece W have been removed in the sand exhaust chamber 8 with the transportation outlet port 7B closed. In addition, the shot particles flowed out from the blasting chamber 7 according to the opening of the transportation inlet port 7A and the transportation outlet port 7B are stored within the workpiece standby camber 6 or the sand exhaust chamber 8.
