PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound having a growth hormone secretagogue effect and capable of increasing a level of an endogenous growth hormone, to provide a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and to provide a pharmaceutical composition containing the same. SOLUTION: This compound comprises a dipeptide derivative having a specified structure, increases endogenous production or release of the growth hormone of a human or other animals, and is effective for treating and preventing osteoporosis and/or infirmity. The pharmaceutical composition which is given by combining the dipeptide derivative with a bisphosphonate salt compound, such as alendronate, and further with estrogen, premarin, calcitonin, etc., is effective for treating the diseases.
