PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of anchors of a high quality VFD (vacuum fluorescent display) having improved luminance and display quality. SOLUTION: The first filament anchor 51A and the second filament anchor 51B have five arms 53A and five arms 53B respectively which can deform elastically. Every arm 53A has a tab 54A at its end and every arm 53B has a tab 54B at its end. Every tab supports an end of every filament respectively. The first filament anchor 51A has ten positioning holes 55A disposed in a line. The second filament anchor 51B has ten positioning holes 55B in a line. A pitch of the positioning holes 55A and the positioning holes 55B is chosen P/2 where P is a pitch of the tabs 54A and the tabs 54B. The first anchor 51A and the second anchor 51B are put together and joined shifting P/2 each other in the direction in which the holes 55A and the holes 55B are arranged. The pitch of the tabs 54A and the tabs 54B of the first filament anchor 51A and the second filament anchor 51B becomes P/2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
