PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a circuit breaker is incompletely switched on due to a large difference of the load of a switching electromagnet between the point where the switching electromagnet starts the operation when the switching device is switched on, and the point where a pressure contact spring starts to accumulate energizing force, and due to the inability of overcoming the load, due to the insufficiency of the energy supplied from the switching electromagnet until a stroke reaches the energizing force accumulation point of the pressure contact spring. SOLUTION: In order to make the initial load at the operation starting point of the switching electromagnet 15 large when starting the circuit breaker, a circular groove is formed on the outer peripheral surface of a bearing 16, an O-ring is fitted to the circular groove, the O-ring is made to contact the inner peripheral surface of a movable iron core 2 drawn toward a fixed iron core 3 when electricity is conducted to a coil 1, and the initial load is added to to a movable iron core 2 at the operation starting point. By the above, the current flowing into the switching electromagnet 15 and the energy generated by the switching electromagnet become large, and the operation force of the switching electromagnet 15 is made larger than the original operation force.
