PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for a user to create a folder for filing by him/herself and automatically create it, when a document is to be read by a scanner and filed. SOLUTION: A folder structure including folders for storing received data is created on mail software. A folder structure analysis part acquires and analyzes information about the folder structure, namely, a data management structure, of the mail software. A folder structure comparison/creation part creates the analyzed folder structure as it is as a folder structure on a file system in which files are managed. Filing processing can be executed on the same folder structure as the folder structure on the mail software that the user is accustomed to, so that the user can store a file in an appropriate folder without hesitation.
