PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifugal blower for inhibiting the collision of the backflow air to a blade and the flowing-around of the backflow air to a suction port, and preventing the impairing of the blowing performance and the noise characteristic in the operation in a high-pressure loss state. SOLUTION: In this centrifugal blower wherein an impeller 5 having a plurality of blades 5a around a rotating shaft, is mounted in a spiral scroll 2, and the air is sucked from the suction port 3 formed on a side plate 2a of the scroll 2, and blown out from a blow-out port 4 of the scroll 2 through each of blades 5a, an air control plate 8 is mounted in a state of surrounding an outer periphery of the impeller 5 by a predetermined width at an interval with respect to the outer periphery of the impeller 5 in the outer radial direction of the suction port 3. Whereby the air flowing back from the blow-out port 4 is cut by the air control plate 8, the collision of the air with the blade 5a is reduced, and further the air flowing around the suction port 3 can be remarkably reduced.
