PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supercharge pressure control device for an engine capable of establishing the engine output performance and the exhaust gas purifying performance compatibly without degrading any of them. SOLUTION: The supercharge pressure control device for the engine having a controlling means to control the supercharge pressure so that it becomes the target value is equipped with an EGR controlling means to control the opening of an EGR control valve in accordance with the load of the engine and recirculating a part of the exhaust gas to the suction line, and the controlling means is equipped with a function to change the value of the target supercharge pressure value between two cases, where part of the exhaust gas is introduced to the suction side by the EGR controlling means and where no exhaust gas is introduced.
