PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder application method which provides an excellent heating efficiency and no possibility of scattering of coating powder since air is not required so much. SOLUTION: The powder application method includes a coating process for coating resin powder on the surface of an article 5 to be coated, a heating process for heating the coating powder, and dissolving and stiffening, and a cooling process for cooling the article to be coated. In the heating process, heating means radiation heating performed by an infrared heating device 8. A breeze is blown to the article to be coated with a fan 7, and the temperature of the breeze is measured by a temperature sensor 9 installed at the leeward side of the article to be coated. The temperature of the article to be coated is relatively grasped from the temperature, and the radiation heating is adjusted by controlling the infrared heating device. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
