A narrow drive motor (2) has a drive disc (3) mounted on it which has a smaller diameter than the motor and has a cable extending around it twice via a counter-disc (4) and at a cable suspension ratio of at least 2:1. The driving gear, counter-disc and cable end fasteners (13, 19) are mounted on a common frame (1) secured directly or via elastic supports to the lift shaft cover (6).
