PURPOSE: Provided is an agitator for water treatment plant, which has two impellers being installed at different depth of an agitation tank and rotating in different direction at different revolution speed, so it has high agitation efficiency and safety. CONSTITUTION: The agitator comprises a drive unit(30) installed above an agitation tank(10) and working with a motor(20) and a drive shaft(21), a central shaft(32) coupled to the drive unit(30) at an upper end portion and extending to near the bottom of the agitation tank(10), an impeller(42) being coupled to a lower end portion of the central shaft(32) and rotating in a first direction at first rpm by the drive unit(30), a hollow shaft(40) coaxially installed to surround the central shaft(32), connected to the drive unit(30) at an upper end portion and extending to a middle portion of the central shaft(32), and an impeller(41) being coupled to a lower end portion of the hollow shaft(40) and rotating in the different direction from a first direction at different rpm from the first rpm.
