<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas resistance improver which can effectively prevent the characteristics deterioration due to an ozone gas or the like, a coating agent containing the same, and gas-resistant paper excellent in gas resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The gas resistance improver at least comprises an ozone decomposition catalyst and titanium dioxide. The ozone decomposition catalyst is an oxide of at least one metal selected from nickel, manganese, cobalt, iron, silver, chromium, cerium, magnesium, vanadium, copper, and molybdenum, and at least a part of the ozone decomposition catalyst is carried on the surface of the titanium dioxide. Preferably, the relation expressed by 0.00005≤D<SB>1</SB>/D<SB>2</SB>≤0.1 (wherein D<SB>1</SB>[μm] is the average particle size of the ozone decomposition catalyst; and D<SB>2</SB>[μm] is the average particle size of the titanium dioxide) is satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
