<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an entering/leaving control device which ensures quick response even if the number of doors is large, and is improved in authentication accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The entering/leaving control device is comprised of personal identification controllers 1 and a plurality of biometric authentication servers 5. Each personal identification controller 1 has a personal identification device 2 and an electric lock 3 connected thereto. The personal identification device 2 extracts physical characteristics of a person. Then the controller 1 determines whether the passage of the person is permitted by referring to a passage permission setting table, and based on a personal number corresponding to personal characteristic information, to thereby set/release the electric lock. Each biometric authentication server 5 authenticates the personal characteristic information extracted by the personal identification device, and sends back the specified personal number. The personal identification controller transmits the personal characteristic information extracted by the personal identification device to the plurality of biometric authentication servers, and if the predetermined number of the biometric authentication servers send back authentication results, the controller determines whether the passage is permitted or not. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
