APPARATUS AND PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING METHANE-RICH GAS FROM METHANOL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical process for producing a methane-rich gas from methanol, and to provide a reactor effecting reforming reaction and methanation reaction simultaneously in one reactor. SOLUTION: This system for stably and inexpensively producing a methane-rich gas from methanol uses a simple reactor capable of effecting endothermic reforming reaction and exothermic methanation reaction simultaneously in one reactor by providing appropriate process conditions, which originally requires two reactors, and capable of sustaining stable reaction without causing overrun of reaction or abnormal temperature rise.
