摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent repetition of slip by regulating a lower limit of a clamping force when no slip is detected. SOLUTION: The clamping force operating so as to make contact a transmission member for transmitting torque between an input member and an output member with the input member and the output member is increased when a relative slip between the input member or the output member and the transmission member. The controller of a continuously variable transmission decreases the clamping force when the slip is not detected over a predetermined period. The controller has a clamping-force decrease limiting means (steps S9 and S10) for setting the lower limit of the decreased clamping force at a pressure higher than the clamping force at the slip detection time.
