PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for removing residual bubbles sufficiently in place of a conventional technology for purging residual bubbles by applying a pressure from the ink supply side. SOLUTION: Utilizing the effect of an ink flow toward the ink supply side in a recording head 18 produced in corresponding with expansion of the volume of an air layer at an ink storage section 15 by a negative pressure generated by sucking ink in the ink storage section from the ink supply side under a state where the nozzle opening 22 and the ink filling passage are enclosed, the buoyancy effect of residual bubbles on the side of a pressure generating section 20 in a recording head, and the ink channel structure where no standing point of ink occur in the recording head 18 when ink is sucked from the ink supply side, residual bubbles on the nozzle side of a filter 19 in the recording head are introduced entirely to the ink supply side of the filter. Residual bubbles thus introduced are moved to the air layer at the ink storage section 15 and dissipated thus removing residual bubbles from the pressure generating section of the recording head.
